Mission
The Chinese Association in Rogaland (CAIR) is an independent, non-political, and nonprofitable organization.
CAIR consists mainly of Chinese and their families, who originally came from China and are currently living in Rogaland, including Stavanger, Sandnes, Sola, Bryne, Randaberg and other municipalities.
The aims of CAIR are:
· To provide a Chinese culture atmosphere for its members and their children. This includes the celebration of main Chinese festivals such as the Mid-Autumn Festival, the National Day and the Chinese New Year, and the organization of sports and entertainments. It also includes teaching Chinese children about Chinese traditions and culture so they know more about Chinese culture heritage.
· To assist Chinese people who are new in the region. This may be a guided tour to visiting delegations or help new corners to Stavanger settled down quickly etc.
(Note: For Guided tours, the organization only provide limited subsidies.)
· To assist and act as bridges to local authorities and organizations on activities related to China and Chinese culture. This may be the organization of culture activities about China, exhibitions of Chinese culture and so on.
· To assist members and guests alike to know and understand more about Norway and the Norwegian society, to enjoy more Norwegian culture and way of life. This can include organized tours and the celebration of Norwegian holidays such as Easter, National day, Christmas and others.
Membership
CAIR is a voluntary organization. People can join and leave at any time. An adult over 18 can become CAIR members if he or she agree and obey this regulation and pay the member fee accordingly.
The membership fee is collected at the beginning of each year. The member fee is used to partly cover the administration like postage and annual fees to the partner organization like International Culture Center in Stavanger. It also partly covers the activities cost. For activities which cost more to organize, entry fee may be charged. The member fee may also be used for subscribing magazines, books or videos and CDs of common interest within the organization.
Election
CAIR is administrated by a 3-person committee. The committee members are elected in the end of each year from volunteered members by email. The election is based on plurality rule. The committee can only serve in his/her capacity for a maximum two terms. The president can be dismissed from her position by the members, again majority rule applies here.
Annual General Meeting
An Annual General Meeting will be held in December. The fiscal and election results will be announced to the members for approval.

The power of making changes and interpretation of the CAIR regulations belongs to the Annual General Meeting.
